lost laptop
My first reaction when I released I had forgotten my laptop on the plane was to fill out the online Lost and Found form and then return to the Airport to see if I could retrieve it, in case it has been delivered by the Cleaners. I was shocked to find out that there was no one to even talk to there. I was met a person who must have been a guard there, and was going into the Lost and Found Office, who was very impolite and repeated several times that I needed an appointment see anyone. I had no idea what he was talking about, as I had seen no such information on the form I had filed out.
Then a cleanser came out, and I kept asking her to see someone from the Office, but she was turning to the Guard for directions , and this went on for a while until a nice lady who spoke English (on reflection, it must have been Julia) came out from the Office and told me that I could not find anything that had been lost on the day. It would have been good it there had been someone to give me that information when I arrived there. So I left and waiting for an email as instructed.
The laptop was found, and I arranged for it to be posted to me at Mexico City. Posting was undertaken by Chronopost. The laptop was stopped at the US Customs office, who needed papers for it. Chronopost said they were handling it, but I was shocked that they did not expect the US Customs to ask for such papers, which would have saved much process.
I was further shocked that Chonopost decided abruptly, without telling me, to return the laptop. I was shocked when I asked Chonopost where they had sent my laptop to hear from them that they could not find out where the laptop had been sent!!!! They only thing they could tell me is that they had returned it to the Sender.
I took a chance at guessing that they had returned it to France Objets Trouvésm so I contacted them and asked them if they had it.
At that point Julia answered, and form then on, my experience with France Objets Trouvés begun being very positive.
I leave it up to you to work out how the service could be improved.
